  High impact ideas disproving the WTS

  if you had to explain to a non jehovah's witness or even to a jehovah's witness (better called watchtower's witness) the reasons why the wt religion is not worth being with, and why it is worthy of disapproval, what would your high impact arguments be?

  if someone asked why is that religion not good, why are you accusing it?

  My major argument here is the annoying fact that the WTS refuses to aknowledge the Christ as the central figure in the New Testament and though they say that they aknowledge him as a King in reality they treat him (the immediate and direct head of the church), as an almost coincidental figure in the grand scheme of things. For them clearly jehovah is the central figure of everything. They have therefore missed the essence of the NT message and are in fact alien to the spirit, nature, and approach of Christianity.

  Absolutely, Greendawn. They've shuffled Christ along with the rest of the anointed aside, in favor of being looked upon and admired as the ONLY channel between God and mankind. pfffttt!

  Legal wrangling concerning the Governing Body today from my mom.

  she stated that the attorney handling her estate, because of florida law could not take the "death requests form, from the society" because of the case concerning terry shiavo.

  (the attorney handling my mom's case is not a witness and she was furious that she was asked to sign a document stating that if the governing body changed their minds on something this would apply to her.. what is strange is that an outside attorney would have a document like this.

  is anyone aware of this?.

  The Blood change has her hackles up.

  She stated to me tonight that if she took fractions, she should then be donating blood....and as we all know they don't allow that.

  She compared it to the Catholic Church or any other religion accepting gays. Now this is not my opinion, incase anyone is getting their own hackels up, but my mom's.

  So really I don't think she is that far off.

  Anyway she has reversed her donation to the society and I think that is what prompted this document sent to her attorney. They got a little taste of her money and are now going to fight for every dime if they can get her to sign off.

  she said that my not going to meetings regularly was.

  She was outraged and said "absolutely not".....She then informed me that she viewed the governing body as OK to distribute the news of Paradise among other things, but the policy changes were in her mind the same as "false religion", and won't accept it.

  If I can get a copy of this document I will post it. Possibly Monday or Tuesday.

  Yes, that is strange, R. But it is very reassuring that you Mom has perhaps seem a glimmer of light on the subject of the WTS policies.

  I'll be interested in seeing a copy of that document, too, chere.

  My self-worth does not actually depend on another poster's opinion of me.

  i've been trashed and bullied by one poster for posting info off the internet that i was offering to someone in need of hope.

  i began a thread on the subject of whether it is right or wrong to offer hope to someone in desperate circumstances in order that the poster could see that theirs wasn't the only opinion of any value.

  while most who responded were in agreement with the validity of being encouraging and offering hopeful info that can be looked into or not, it's the viewer's choice, that poster has continued his bullying, stating that i'm mentally, literally incompetent, basically stupid and irresponsible, though i'm so incompetent that i shouldn't be actually held accountable for my well-meant ignorance.

  Do NOT adlib through my fav shows, only I can do that and get away with it, because I don't override the dialogue.

  Do NOT touch my shtuff. It's mine. I don't mess with all your shtuff, so leave mine alone....or else I WILL mess with your shtuff and don't think I won't know you did.

  Do NOT channel surf with the remote. They have a TV guide channel for that, so save the wear and tear on yer buttons.

  I've had my share of bullies here. I won't back down from these types as they are not better than I am. Stick up for yourself and if somebody doesn't like you or your thoughts, screw them. It's their loss!

  Do you still feel guilty, not going to the memorial?

  the first time i missed the memorial, i was sick and couldn't go, and felt guilty because that meeting was so important.. then another year, i missed again, this time i wasn't sick.

  i still felt guilty, because i still believed in the religion to a certain extent.

  i didn't go because i didn't want to go back to the meetings, and feel trapped once more.. maybe some feel guilty that they aren't doing anything for the memorial or easter, depending which religion you think is right, because after all jesus did say to remember him..
